報(bào)告人簡介:
Prof. Geoff Tansley is the Head of Griffith School of Engineering, Griffith University, Australia. He researches and consults widely in the design of medical devices and in the fluid mechanics of blood flow. Principally he specializes in the design of rotary blood pumps for application as ventricular assist devices (artificial hearts) but more recently in the design of blood pumps for use prior to haemodialysis. Before re-joining academia he was a Chief Mechanical Engineer at Ventracor in Sydney which developed a rotary blood pump which was used clinically and marketed in Australasia and Europe.
Professor Tansley has authored and co-authored over 50 refereed journal papers, co-invented on 20 patents andsupervised 15 postgraduate degrees.
Professor Tansley is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a member of the International Society for Rotary Blood Pumps, American Society for Artificial Internal Organs, and European Society for Artificial Organs.
